This used to be the nicest protein powder but since the stated protein content has increased and there has been changes to the recipe- it has an almost sour twang, really unpleasant no matter what you blend it with. It is such a shame- we wrote to their customer service- never heard back. Taste is personal but buy with caution as it is expensive.
We’re really sorry about this - both that the flavour wasn’t right and that you didn’t receive a response from our customer service team in a timely manner.
Because we use natural ingredients, some variation between batches is possible. In this case, changing climatic conditions affected the flavour profile of cacao from our supplier, resulting in a different flavour profile to normal on one small batch. As soon as we identified the issue, we worked with our supplier to rectify it while continuing to use the same premium-quality ingredients.
We completely understand your disappointment, particularly as you previously loved the product. If we can do anything to help or give you the confidence to use 33Fuel again, please reach out.

Have been using the protein powder for the last few months, as I build up to some long distance bike events, after reading a number of protein powder reviews and recommendations. Taste is good, mixes well, all natural ingredients and works well with added banana and peanut butter.

Doesn’t taste as good as some of the cheaper brands but then again it hasn’t got all the rubbish in that gives it that sweet taste. Good alternative that I use a couple of times a week on my ‘ no meat ‘ days.

You're right that - because we don't add sweeteners or artificial flavourings - it's not as sweet as other protein powders, but if you mix with something a little sweeter, this can add that taste. For example, for breakfast I stir a serving of Premium Protein into my yoghurt and then add some fruit, granola and a drizzle of honey...try it - you won't regret it!

Blend mine with soya milk, a banana and a couple of tablespoons of almond butter. Sometimes I also add soya yoghurt and some mixed seeds. I think the thicker the mixture you make, the less powdery it tastes, but the powdery taste isn’t off-putting anyway.
