About James
James has raced 13 full-distance Ironman triathlons, with a best time of 8:58:25, and twice qualified for the Ironman World Championship in Kona. He has also raced 15 Ironman 70.3 events, reaching the podium several times.
Off the bike, James moved to ultra running. He has run 100 miles in 20 hours 30 minutes at the North Downs Way 100, and raced multi-day stage races in some of the toughest places on earth: the Atacama Crossing in Chile, the Jungle Ultra and Jungle Marathon in the Amazon, and the Everest Trail Race in the Himalaya.
He is a Level 3 personal trainer and strength & conditioning coach. That mix of racing at the sharp end and coaching everyday athletes shapes how he writes: practical, evidence-based advice that works when training has to fit around work, family and real life.
James joined 33Fuel as Head of Content in 2018. He leads the blog, guides and nutrition plans, covering endurance fuelling, strength training, recovery and healthy ageing for runners, cyclists and triathletes.
